The 2000 This Ain't No Picnic showcased Beck, Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill, At the Drive-In, Modest Mouse, and more. After a hiatus, This Ain't No Picnic returned in 2002 with headliners Guided by Voices, Jimmy Eat World, and the Donnas. The name is a nod to one of Goldenvoice's earliest festivals, launched in Irvine in 1999, the same year as Coachella.

A sixth "stage" is ready for Despacio, a custom built disco sound system designed by James Murphy and team. Two-day general admission tickets start at $299, while two-day VIPs are going for $799, plus fees. Pre-sale starts December 9th, and is available at the event website. In a throwback nod to the original 1999 and 2000 festivals, This Ain't No Picnic Festival is coming back next year. The fest will return August at Brookside by the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Includes one GA ticket good for entry to the festival, access to all GA areas including food and beverage vendors and all stages.

The three-day event moved to September in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it's back to its normal month of May this year with plenty to get excited about. Leading the fest's third installment will be Weezer and 311 as co-headliners on Friday while The Smashing Pumpkins and Steve Miller Band will have their own days — Saturday and Sunday, respectively — to shine even after the sun dips into the Pacific Ocean. Goldenvoice brings This Ain't No Picnic Festival back to the summer of 2022. The two-day event takes place on August 27 and 28 in Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

LCD Soundsystem is currently in the midst of a 20-show residency at Brooklyn Steel, its only shows of 2021, and has announced no other shows for 2022. A reunited Le Tigre will also perform its only reunion show of 2022 at the festival. The tickets for the "This Ain't No Picnic" festival at Pasadena is available in two tiers.

The General Admission ticket charges start at $299, and for VIP tickets, it is around $799. The major attraction of the festival is the return of Le Tigre. The popular electric band in the nineties will be coming together for a performance after 12 years at this Pasadena music fest. The name is a nod to one of Goldenvoice's earliest festivals (Sonic Youth, Guided by Voices, Superchunk and Trail of Dead were among those featured at Irvine's Oak Canyon Ranch).
